January 2006

Things are definitely starting to take shape now.

The UFH pipes are laid around the ground floor.

This shows the dining room and the kitchen beyond.

The two ground floor bedrooms and the bathroom between.

The first UFH manifold is in place.

Then the concrete pump arrived with a few loads of concrete.

They sent a big one! Not sure we needed it that big.

Pouring the concrete...

Levelling the concrete...

...and the finished slab.

The builders start work on the internal walls while we're waiting for the Euromac blocks to arrive

The Euromac blocks were then delivered - they are 100cm x 30cm x 35cm

The external walls are set out very quickly...

The garage is packed full of wall blocks.

The trestles are put in place to support the external walls as they are built - and to make sure they don't move when the concrete is poured.

The walls continue to rise - and the blocks have only been on site for three days!

The concrete pump is booked for Friday 3 February. By then we should have the whole of the first floor blocks laid and ready to fill.
