By the end of May we have had most of the scaffolding removed and the project is now beginning to resemble a house.
The slates are just about completed both on the south side.
And the west side.
The back door (stable door) has been installed.
As has the front door.
Now that we are weatherproof it is time to test the building for airtightness.
Below is some of the equipment brought to site in order to test the building.
The result we scored is about twice as good as is necessary under the current building regulations. However, we have since identified a number of unsealed holes that would have improved the result significantly and once the building is plastered the result should get better still. I am very tempted to carry out a second test afterwards to see how good a result we can get.
